Less than 67 kg: South Korean Hwang, Olympic
A South Korean Hwang Kyung-seon won the title of champion 2008 Olympic taekwondo in the category of less than 67 kg, Friday in Beijing. Hwang, double world champion in 2005 and 2007 aged 22, was beaten in the final Canadian Karine Sergerie 2 to 1. In 2004, in Athens, she won the bronze medal. For the first time since the advent of taekwondo at the Olympic Games program in 2000, two bronze medals were awarded to winners of repêchages, the Frenchwoman Gwladys Epangue and Croatian Sandra Saric.
